Quality Inn La Trobe Convention Centre
Quality Inn La Trobe Convention Centre was initially built in the 60s but was expanded during the 80s. Both styles of architecture are still clearly visible on the site. The current owners wanted to refurbish their facilities to allow them to compete with more modern developments that have started to appear in the neighbourhood.
Our first step was to create a master plan – outlining the areas on-site they we believe require work. The main outcome from our investigations was the realisation that this family owned business needed a brand, or image, to set it apart from the crowd.
The outcome was a strong image created by a stone ‘sentinel’ – an object that we would place around the site at various scales. The sentinel would be used to draw attention to important elements and create depth around the main 60s facade. It could be further incorporated into all levels of the business down to logos and letterheads.
